CAPE ELIZABETH – Cape Elizabeth scored three early runs early and Will Leblond made them stand up as the Capers beat Poland 3-0 in a Western Maine Conference baseball game Friday.

Cape Elizabeth (4-0) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on RBI singles by Kyle Danielson and Chris Tinsman. Danielson singled home another run in the second.

Leblond needed just 73 pitches to set down the Knights (1-6). He allowed three hits, struck out three and walked one.

 

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 8, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 7: Heath Martell tripled and scored what proved to be the winning run on an RBI single by Adam Healy in the top of the seventh inning, and the Patriots (3-3) held off the Raiders (1-6) at Fryeburg.

Fryeburg rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh, getting within one run on a two-run homer by Colby Locke.

Martell, Jeff Taylor and Kevin Cavallaro each had two hits for the Patriots, and Tim Lerette added a triple and one RBI.

Andrew Rascoe finished with a double, a triple, three RBI and two runs scored for the Raiders.

 

FALMOUTH 11, LAKE REGION 0: Dillon Dresser struck out five and walked one while pitching a three-hitter, and also went 2 for 2 with a pair of RBI to lead the Yachtsmen (3-1) past the Lakers (1-4) in five innings at Falmouth.

Matt MacDowell added two doubles and three RBI for Falmouth, which built on its 5-0 lead with a six-run third inning.

Adam Shane had a pair of singles for Lake Region.

HALL-DALE 12, GEORGES VALLEY 8: Ben Crocker had three hits and two RBI and was the winning pitcher for the Bulldogs (3-2) against the Buccaneers (1-3) at Thomaston.

Zach McNaughton also had three hits and three RBI.

Bryant Matthews hit a three-run homer and an RBI single, while Dylan Maloney and Sam Tarbox also had two hits for Georges Valley.

 

YORK 15, WELLS 5: Chris Cole went 3 for 5 with two home runs and seven RBI to pace the Wildcats (4-2) as they downed the Warriors (5-2) in six innings at York.

Jack Radke added three hits and three RBI for York, and Ben Lawlor finished with two hits, four runs scored and two RBI.

Wells was led by Louis DiTomasso, who hit a double and a solo home run.

 

WAYNFLETE 13, SACOPEE VALLEY 4: Noah Anderson, Sam Murphy and Alex Hadiaris finished with two hits apiece to lead the Flyers (3-1) past the Hawks (0-5) at Portland.

Andrew Butler added two RBI and scored a run for Waynflete, which broke the game open with a six-run third inning.

Sacopee Valley was paced by Ryan Morris, who went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI.

MEDOMAK VALLEY 12, MAINE CENTRAL INSTITUTE 2: Isaac Greenrose belted a pair of doubles and allowed one hit in three innings as the Panthers (3-3) beat the Huskies (0-6) at Pittsfield.

Chris Benedict and Brandon Gresham each had two RBI, and every starter scored at least one run for Medomak Valley.

 

LAWRENCE 4, MORSE 1: Shawn Russell drove in a pair of runs to help the Bulldogs (4-3) beat the Shipbuilders (1-6) at Fairfield.

Matt Woodbury hit an RBI double for Lawrence. Blair Blaisdell picked up the win, striking out 11 and allowing three hits and three walks.

 

MONMOUTH ACADEMY 19, BOOTHBAY 7: The Mustangs (5-0) scored 11 runs in the fifth inning to close out a win over the Seahawks (0-5) at Boothbay Harbor.
