BANGOR — Bangor police officers are going to be raising money for the Special Olympics by helping serve customers at a local Appleby’s restaurant.

On Friday, the officers will participate in the Tip-A-Cop event at the Hogan Road Appleby’s that is part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.

From 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. officers will assist restaurant staff by serving food and drinks, and clearing tables.

All of the money raised will benefit Special Olympics Maine.
