FARMINGTON — Police in Maine believe excessive speed is to blame for a single-car crash in Farmington that killed a 27-year-old man.

Officials say Christopher Allen, of Farmington, lost control on Temple Road around 8 p.m. Sunday and crashed into a tree.

Police say Allen was taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital after the crash, where he died.
