YARMOUTH — A New York man is being held on $100,000 bail after being charged with selling crack cocaine in Yarmouth.

The arrest of Jeremy Chappelle, 22, of New York City Thursday is the second arrest in as many days of men from New York allegedly selling crack cocaine in the suburbs around Portland.

On Wednesday, Scarborough police along with federal and state drug agents raided a home on Sawyer Road in that town and arrested Rahman Williams, 29, of Brooklyn.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and Yarmouth police arrested Chappelle at 10 p.m. at an apartment at Juniper Ledge Thursday and seized seven ounces of the cocaine base, which would have been worth $20,000 if sold on the street, police said.

He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
