BIDDEFORD – Kelsea Beisaw broke a 1-1 tie with just under 21 minutes remaining and the University of New England defeated Wheaton 2-1 Saturday in a college field hockey game.

Laura Egounis scored the first goal for the Nor’easters (2-0) and the Lyons (1-1) answered quickly before Beisaw collected a loose ball and drove a shot inside the near post

UNE goalie Kaitlyn Warren stopped four shots.

ONEONTA STATE 6, USM 2: Megan Warning had three goals and the Dragons (1-0) rallied from an early 1-0 deficit to beat the Huskies (0-2) at Oneonta, N.Y.

Rachel Trafton scored for USM 6:53 into the game. Haley Carter added a goal with 11:53 remaining.

GORDON 1, USM 0: Rachael Bailey scored in the 49th minute and Kari Christensen stopped five shots to lift the Fighting Scots (1-1) over the Huskies (0-2) at Portland.

Southern Maine keeper Kat Rothe finished with six saves.

UNE 6, MAINE MARITIME 0: Katie Caron had one goal and one assist and Emily Lodge added two assists as the Nor’easters (1-0) downed the Mariners (0-1) at Bangor.

HUSSON 3, UNE 0: Greg Dawson had two goals to lead the Eagles (1-1) over the Nor’easters (0-2) at Bangor.

UNE goalie Jon Planer recorded eight saves.

ALBANY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY 7, SOUTHERN MAINE CC 1: The Panthers (2-0) started quickly with two goals in the first 11 minutes and defeated the Seawolves (0-1) at Albany, N.Y.

Kyle Ehlers scored with Blais Whitney assisting for SMCC.

SALVE REGINA 7, USM 1: Zachary Kraft and Patrick Vierengel each scored two goals to lead the Seahawks (1-1) past the Huskies (0-2) at the USM Classic at Portland.

Buddy Reid scored for the Huskies midway through the second half.

MIT 3, ST. JOSEPH’S 1: John Kramer scored with 18:22 left to snap a 1-1 tie and lift MIT (2-0) over the Monks (1-1) in the USM Classic at Portland.

The Monks tied the game when Mike Sanfilippo scored on a free kick with 4:40 left in the first half.
