BANGOR — A 47-year-old Dover-Foxcroft woman impaled by a tree-branch during a summer thunderstorm has died.

The Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department was notified by the office of the Maine Medical Examiner that Rory Schmand died Wednesday at the Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
