LEWISTON — Police in Lewiston are investigating a bizarre incident on the dance floor at a city bar in which a man’s nose was nearly bitten off.
Police say 29-year-old Ryan Zinninger of Greene was dancing at Pub 33 on Tuesday morning when another person bit his nose.
Police tell the Sun Journal that Zinninger was taken to the hospital where a doctor sewed his nose into place with 12 stitches. He was released, but the doctor says he may still lose the tip of his nose.
Witnesses and bar staff say Zinninger and the suspect had some sort of altercation before the biting incident.
The suspect’s name was not immediately released. Police say they are hoping to secure an arrest warrant on a charge of aggravated assault.
