CARMEL — Maine State Police say speed is the cause of a single car crash that killed two teenagers in Carmel.
Police say the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit a utility pole Monday night, causing a power outage in the area.
Authorities say emergency crews could not get to the car right away because of the downed lines.
Police say the two teen boys, aged 16 and 14, died instantly in the crash.
