PORTLAND – Chris Colabello hit a pair of home runs to help lift the New Britain Rock Cats to a 6-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs in front of 3,846 Tuesday night at Hadlock Field.

Colabello hit a solo shot in the sixth to give the Rock Cats a 4-1 lead. He padded New Britain’s lead in the eighth with a two-run home run.

The win was the sixth straight (all on the road) for the Rock Cats as they improved to 10-3.

The Sea Dogs, who dropped their third straight to move to 3-10 on the season, opened the scoring in the third when Jeremy Hazelbaker led off the inning with his first home run of the season to give Portland a 1-0 lead.

New Britain came right back in the fourth and made their first three hits of the game count. With two out and two on, Deibinson Romero singled to score Chris Herrmann. Colabello raced to third on the play and scored on a wild throw from Portland third baseman Kolbrin Vitek. Romero, who went to second on the errant throw, scored on Pedro Florimon’s single to give the visitors a 3-1 advantage.

Portland scored two in the ninth on a triple by Bryce Brentz to close out the scoring.
