ITHACA, N.Y. – Mike Augliera threw a four-hitter in the opener, and Dave Ciocchi’s eighth-inning RBI single in the second game gave Binghamton a sweep of its America East baseball doubleheader Sunday against Maine, 6-0 and 2-1.

Maine (21-16, 7-2 America East) took a 1-0 lead in Game 2 when Justin Leisenheimer scored on a balk in the second inning. Binghamton (15-16, 6-2) tied it in the third inning.

Tyler Patzalek went 2 for 3 in the second game for the Black Bears, who had won 14 straight.

ST. JOSEPH’S SPLITS WITH ANNA MARIA: Lincoln Sanborn struck out eight while pitching a three-hitter, and Dan Achorn, Nic Lops and Dan Brown each drove in a run to lift St. Joseph’s (32-5) to a 3-1 victory over the Amcats (20-14) in the opener at Standish.

In Game 2, the Monks took a 2-1 lead in the fifth on a two-run homer by Alex Markakis, but Anna Maria got two runs in the sixth for a 3-2 win.

BOWDOIN SPLITS WITH ROGER WILLIAMS: Sam Herzig tossed a six-hitter and Sam Canales went 2 for 2 with three runs scored to lead the Polar Bears (18-13) to a 4-2 win over the Hawks (11-25) in the second game at Brunswick.

Roger Williams won the opener, 6-4 in eight innings.

WHEATON 9, SOUTHERN MAINE 2: Mike McGinnis retired the first 17 batters as the Lyons (30-4) beat the Huskies (16-15) at Gorham.

Matt Powers was hit by a pitch with two out in the sixth and scored on David Ricker’s double.

SOFTBALL

ST. JOSEPH’S SPLITS WITH NORWICH: Lindsay Moore went 2 for 2 with a triple and three RBI as the Monks (30-5) earned a split against the Cadets (20-14) with a 9-0 win in five innings at Standish.

Norwich won the opener, 2-1.

MAINE 1, STONY BROOK 1: Jennifer Eberhardt hit a first inning homer for the Black Bears (11-26-1) as they played to a tie against the Seawolves (31-11-1) in a game that was stopped in the eighth inning because of rain at Stony Brook, N.Y.

BATES SWEEPS THOMAS: Karen Ullmann had three hits and scored four runs, and Kelly McManus added four RBI to lead the Bobcats (21-6) to a 13-4 win over the Terriers (12-23-1) in the first game at Waterville.

Bates won Game 2 in five innings, 10-1.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

BOWDOIN 21, UNE 7: Carolyn Gorajek and Elizabeth Clegg scored four goals apiece to pace the Polar Bears (9-5) to a win over the Nor’easters (12-4) at Brunswick.

UNE got two goals from Gina Newsome and Nikki Smith.

MEN’S LACROSSE

BOWDOIN 8, ENDICOTT 4: Nathan Fritts scored three goals and assisted on another to lead the Polar Bears (11-3) past the Gulls (8-8) at Beverly, Mass.
