Kristen Ghodsee will talk about her book, “Lost in Transition: Ethnographies of Everyday Life After Communism” as part of the Portland library’s Brown Bag Lecture Series. The book chronicles lives upended by the collapse of communism through essays and short stories based on her Eastern Europe experiences between 1989 and 2009. Ghodsee is the John S. Osterweis associate professor and director of gender and women’s studies at Bowdoin College in Brunswick.
