SCARBOROUGH – Dillon Russo passed for two touchdowns and 188 yards to lead unbeaten Scarborough to its third straight win, 27-12 against Windham in a Western Class A football game Friday night.
Russo added 105 yards rushing in the second half as the Red Storm showed a diversified offense for the second straight week.

Just as it did a week ago against Bonny Eagle, Scarborough took a quick 15-0 lead. But unlike last week, the points weren’t as plentiful because Windham (2-1) buckled down.
Still, it was an impressive win for the Red Storm, who weren’t among the Class A favorites when the season began.
“We just work hard in practice and it pays off,” said running back Dan LeClair, who scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth quarter. “We play hard for four quarters. We’re showing other teams what we can do.”
It looked like Scarborough would pile on points for a second straight week after scoring the first 35 against Bonny Eagle.
The Red Storm needed only three plays to score. Russo found Greg Viola behind the secondary, which caught up to Viola. But he avoided their tackles with some nifty moves on a 65-yard play.
Scarborough scored on its next possession and again it was Russo to Viola, who made a diving catch in the end zone on a 30-yard play.
“We have some receivers who can catch the ball,” said Scarborough Coach Lance Johnson. “I thought we played better on offense than we did against Bonny Eagle. The defense did what it does.”
The game was filled with penalties and Scarborough was hurt the most. Russo had a 58-yard touchdown run called back because of holding in the third quarter.
That’s something the Red Storm will have to rectify in coming games.
“The penalties were rough,” said LeClair. “We got called for them but we still came back and moved the ball down the field. We did what we had to do.”
Russo was his elusive self again.
“He’s a dual threat,” said Johnson. “If teams bring pressure, Dillon can do it with his feet. He found his receivers tonight. With him running the show, we’re in good shape.”
Scarborough intercepted four passes, two by Charlie Raybine, one by Russo and the other by Dalton Finley.
Raybine’s second interception resulted in a 22-yard return for a touchdown that gave the Red Storm a 21-6 lead in the third quarter.
The Eagles scored with 15 seconds left in the half, then got their second touchdown with just over five minutes left in the game.
The Red Storm responded two plays later. Russo scampered 42 yards to the 10 and LeClair took it over on the next play.
Windham quarterback Damien Shepard injured his knee in the first half but returned at wide receiver in the second half.
Linemen Brandon Mitchell sprained his ankle on the same play but didn’t return.
“We had a lot of adversity with injuries,” said Windham Coach Matt Perkins. “We had to do some patchwork. Scarborough is a good team and their quarterback is very fast.”
Todd Allen, who replaced Shepard at quarterback, accounted for both of Windham’s touchdowns. He passed to Jacob Perry for 3 yards and a score just before halftime, then scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter.
