Southern Maine girls’ soccer team reaches final in U15 tournament
The Seacoast United Mariners U15 girls’ soccer team, from southern Maine, advanced to the USL Super-Y League national championship game with a 3-0 victory Monday over the Long Island Rough Riders during semifinal play in Bradenton, Fla.
Melissa Morton, Kathyrn Clark and Liz Lane scored for Seacoast United, and Elizabeth Mycock recorded her third shutout in four tournament games.
Seacoast United plays the Atlanta Fire at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the final. The teams played to a 1-1 tie Sunday.
PREP SCHOOLS
Girls’ hockey: Katie Couture scored four goals and assisted on Abby Kinens’ goal for Hebron Academy in a 5-1 win over North Yarmouth Academy at Hebron. Olivia Madore scored for NYA.
