Portland High School senior Michaela Boissoneault has been named a National YoungArts Foundation Merit Winner in theater. She was among 685 young artists recognized for outstanding work and accomplishment from approximately 10,000 applicants. Winners are eligible to participate in the Emmy-nominated HBO series “YoungArts MasterClass” and events in Washington, D.C. For more information, visit

Nate Smart, a senior, won Maine’s first prize in the Classical Association of New England’s writing contest. He will compete in the New England competition as the Maine entry.
Kyle Reichert, also a senior, won third prize in the contest.

Loomis Chaffee School, Windsor, Conn.: Douglas Gorman, a senior from Saco, and Molly Strabley, a senior from Yarmouth, have both been named to the honor roll.
