PORTLAND — Three Portland Sea Dogs hit home runs Sunday afternoon, but it was not enough as the Trenton Thunder topped Portland 9-7 at Hadlock Field.

Michael Almanzar hit two solo home runs, and Derrik Gibson and Shannon Wilkerson added homers. Portland never led in the game.

Kyle Kaminska (0-1) made his first start for Portland, allowing nine hits and five runs over five innings.
Reliever Miguel Celestino gave up four runs on five hits and two walks over two innings.

Daniel Bard made his second relief appearance for the Sea Dogs, pitching a 1-2-3 sixth. He needed only eight pitches (seven strikes).

Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew, on a rehab assignment with Portland, played the whole game and went 0 for 4 with a walk. He is expected to stay with the Sea Dogs through Tuesday.

The Sea Dogs are back at Hadlock at 6 p.m. Monday. Matt Barnes will start against the Reading Phillies.
