BERLIN, N.H. — Rescue teams from New Hampshire and Maine have come to the aid of a 4-H camp participant who injured her knee along the Appalachian Trail and couldn’t move.
New Hampshire Fish and Game officers said both states received the rescue call Sunday morning. The injured woman was in the Mahoosuc Mountains on the border of Maine and New Hampshire.
Teams carried 18-year-old Aisling Clifford of Boston down the mountains, coming out the Success Mountain Trail shortly before 7 p.m. She was treated at Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin.
Lt. Wayne Saunders of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department said it is great to see two states working together on a rescue when they initially didn’t know which state the victim was in.
