WESTBROOK – Hannah Folger lofted in an 18-yard shot with nine minutes left Wednesday night to give Marshwood a 2-1 victory against Westbrook in an SMAA schoolgirl soccer game.

The Hawks (5-1) took a 1-0 lead in the second half when Lydia St. Pierre scored from Reagan Nichols. Sophie Manning set up Mackenzie Rayner for the tying goal with 17 minutes left before Folger broke away to win it.

Samm Russell had 10 saves for Westbrook (1-5). Macy Morrison handled three shots for the Hawks.

CHEVERUS 1, SANFORD 0: Katie Gordon scored at 26:10 of the first half on an unassisted shot from 20 yards and Cheverus (1-5) went on to beat Sanford (0-5) at Portland.

Anna Niedermeyer secured the shutout with 15 saves. Kyla Bragg finished with 12 stops for the Spartans.

SCARBOROUGH 8, NOBLE 0: Hadlee Yescott scored three goals and Ashley Gleason added two as the Red Storm (5-0-1) cruised past the Knights (0-6-1) at North Berwick.

Morgan Rodway, Aly Atherton and Marisa Risbara also scored.

MacKenzie O’Brien made five saves for the shutout.

GORHAM 9, MCAULEY 0: Abbie LaPorte, Meghan Cushing and Emily Lewis scored two goals apiece to lead the Rams (5-1) past the Lions (2-4) at Portland.

Renee Staples made five saves to record the shutout. Jordan Carr stopped 10 shots for McAuley.

DEERING 8, BONNY EAGLE 0: Simone Lauture scored a hat trick to lead Deering (5-1) over Bonny Eagle (0-6-1) at Portland.

Meghana Clere added two goals, and Alexis Elowitch, Meaghan Wells and Edie Pallozzi also scored.

VINALHAVEN 7, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 0: Bethany Candage scored three goals to lead the Vikings (3-6) over Greater Portland Christian (0-4) at Vinalhaven.

Taylor Littlefield, Ashley Hamilton, Maddie Hallowell and Hannah Noyes also scored for Vinalhaven, which led 6-0 at halftime.

Eve Diby finished with 29 saves for Greater Portland Christian.

WISCASSET 7, WINTHROP 1: Kasey Cromwell had three goals as the Wolverines won at Winthrop.

Brooke Carleton, Shania Marr and Sarah Hanley also scored for Wiscasset.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Scout Fishman had six saves for the Panthers (3-2-1) against Fryeburg Academy (1-3-2) at Yarmouth.

WINDHAM 9, SOUTH PORTLAND 0: Jenna Soucy and Cassie Symonds collected two goals and an assist apiece to lead the Eagles (6-0) past the Red Storm (0-6) at Windham.

Emma Russell finished with 17 saves for South Portland.

YORK 7, WELLS 0: Tara Simpson scored three goals to lead York (8-0) over the Warriors (2-4) at Wells.

Alie Jones and Madeline Leroux added two goals apiece, and Livy Golini completed the shutout with three saves. Randi Albano blocked 11 shots for Wells.

BOYS’ SOCCER

JONESPORT-BEALS 1, GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 1: Cole Beal scored the tying goal 9:29 into the second half as Jonesport-Beals (4-2-1) tied Greater Portland Christian (4-2-1) at South Portland.

Ethan Spaulding gave Greater Portland the lead after 12:42.

FIELD HOCKEY

CAPE ELIZABETH 1, YARMOUTH 0: Taylor Herrera scored from Abi McInerney eight minutes into the game and the Capers (6-2) held off the Clippers (3-2-1) at Cape Elizabeth.

Mary DiPietro stopped all six shots she faced for the Capers. Tori Messina finished with nine saves for Yarmouth.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, SACOPEE VALLEY 0: Bridget Tweedie scored twice to lead the Raiders (4-4) over the Hawks (0-5-1) at Fryeburg.

Tweedie opened the scoring after two minutes from Makayla Frost and added a goal from Nicole Thurston with 8:52 left.

LAKE REGION 2, FREEPORT 1: Lucy Fowler opened the scoring after 23 minutes and added a second goal two minutes later to lift the Lakers (6-2) over the Falcons (2-6) at Freeport.

Hannah Williams scored for Freeport with three minutes left.

FALMOUTH 1, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: Jillian Rothweiler scored from Elle Fitzgerald and Leika Scott with 5:37 left in the first overtime to lift the Yachtsmen (7-1) over the Panthers (6-1) at Falmouth.

Scott carried the ball down the sideline and sent a cross into the circle that was tipped from Fitzgerald to Rothweiler.

VOLLEYBALL

CAPE ELIZABETH 3, BIDDEFORD 0: Bailey Cote and Jocelyn Moody combined for 20 kills and six digs for the Tigers (2-4) in a straight-set loss to the Capers (6-1) at Biddeford.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 3, THORNTON ACADEMY 2: After falling behind two games to one, North Yarmouth Academy won the final two games 25-23 and 15-11 at Saco.

Charlotte Esancy and Nina Babbitt combined for 49 attacks and seven kills for NYA. Sohyun Jeon added 11 digs.
