Trio of library options

Prince Memorial Library will host three events this week at 266 Main St.

A children’s “Story, Craft, Music and Bubbles Time” session will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.

A Spanish Story Times reading will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday for all ages.

And a holiday gift wrapping party will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with attendees invited to wrap their presents in a festive atmosphere, with holiday music and refreshments.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a roll of wrapping paper to share. Additional supplies will be available.

STANDISH

Preschool program

The Portland Water District invites preschoolers to join them for monthly environment-themed stories, games and crafts at Sebago Lake Ecology Center at 1 White Rock Road.

All events are free and will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fridays, beginning Dec. 20. Additional sessions will be held Jan. 24, Feb. 21, March 21 and April 25.

Donations are accepted and will support local loon preservation.

SOUTH BERWICK

Unplugged Christmas show

The RMS Five will perform “Unplugged,” a Christmas concert featuring gospelized Christmas carols, doo-wop and R&B-flavored popular holiday songs at 6 p.m. Saturday at First Parish Federated Church, 150 Main St.

Advance tickets are $10 and may be purchased at www.projectmusicworks.org or by calling 450-8476. All tickets at the door will be $12. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Proceeds from CD sales will benefit ProjectMusicWorks, a Maine nonprofit organization dedicated to performing free outreach concerts at hospice, homeless shelters, rehab programs and other facilities that support those in need.

ROCKLAND

Annual tree sale starts

The annual Kiwanis Christmas tree sale has begun, with a variety of sizes available at the Maverick Street Plaza, by JCPenney and Hannaford.

With a plan to sell over 500 trees, volunteers will staff the sales lot every day until all the trees are gone.

Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Trees will be priced according to size, ranging from $30 to $45. A limited number of smaller trees will also be available.

Proceeds from the sale of Kiwanis Christmas trees are used to support the Kiwanis Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors in Knox County, and for funding of other special programs.

Moonlight Eastern Trail walk

The Eastern Trail Alliance invites community members to join them for a moonlight walk on the Biddeford section of the Eastern Trail, heading south, at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

This walk will be lit exclusively by natural light. Attendees are asked to not bring flashlights or other artificial light sources. No pets please.

Attendees should dress warmly, wearing sturdy footwear and warm layers.

Christmas variety show

Jason and Matt Tardy will host The Theater Awesome’s Christmas Variety Show at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 5 Depot St.

The show promises lots of holiday cheer and will feature the amazing magical illusions of Norman Ng, live Christmas music performed by Peter Mezoian, juggling, physical comedy and other zaniness by Steve Corning and the Tardy brothers.

Tickets are $12 for seniors and children and $17 for adults in advance.

Children under 3 are free if seated on a parent’s lap. The ticket price at the door is $3 more than the advance ticket price.
