PROMOTIONS

n Barb Wentworth was named president and chief executive officer of the United Way of York County.

Wentworth has worked for the organization for more than 20 years, most recently serving as interim president and CEO. In her new role, Wentworth will be responsible for the leadership and management of the organization.

n Trevor Nugent was promoted to director of public housing for the Portland Housing Authority.

Nugent joined the housing authority in 2008 as property manager.

n Dream Local Digital announced two promotions to support the agency’s continued growth.

Jessica Greene, who recently served as office manager, was promoted to junior marketing strategist. She will provide social media and online marketing to many of its small-business clients. She joined the company in 2012.

Kasey Ahlquist, who was also hired in 2012 and served as marketing strategist, was promoted to senior marketing strategist. She will now provide leadership and mentoring to junior strategists and lead strategy development for key accounts.

n Lee Houghton-Davis was named director of sales for U.S. Cellular’s New England Agent Channel in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. Houghton-Davis has more than 23 years of experience in the wireless industry. She had worked as the agent area sales manager for U.S. Cellular in New England.

n Amber Caron was promoted to director of public relations at Kemp Goldberg Partners.

Caron provides strategy development and media counsel, which has led to the creation and execution of communications initiatives for best-selling book tours, The New York Times Magazine and Fortune 500 companies. She was previously a senior account executive.

n Chris Philbrook, a senior account executive, was promoted to director of public affairs at Kemp Goldberg Partners.

Philbrook was previously a senior staff member with U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and a special assistant to Secretary of the U.S. Treasury Henry Paulson.

CERTIFICATIONS

n Charles Ross, club manager at the Portland Country Club in Falmouth, has maintained his professional designation of “Certified Club Manager” with the Club Managers Association of America.

Ross recently completed the certification maintenance requirement, where he needed to earn 120 education and activity credits within the 5-year certification period to maintain his designation.

AWARDS

n The Brunswick Downtown Association recognized several local businesses and community leaders for their dedication to the association and the town of Brunswick.

Roxane Rathje, a member of its board of directors, was recognized with the Volunteer of the Year Award.

Mid Coast Health Services and the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority were honored as Business Members of the Year.

Gary Brown, outgoing town manager of Brunswick, was recognized for his longstanding support of the BDA and his role in the development of Station Avenue and the New Brunswick Police Station.

Margo Knight, an outgoing member of the Town Council, was honored for her dedication to the town and the BDA.

n Daniel Honan was recognized by Barron’s Magazine in its Feb. 24 issue as a 2014 Top Financial Adviser.

Honan, of Portland, is a senior vice president and senior portfolio manager at Merrill Lynch. This is his fourth time being named to the list since 2009.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS

n Stephen Mulkey, president of Unity College, was appointed to the board of directors for the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education.

Mulkey led his college to become the first institution of higher education in the United States to adopt sustainability science as its framework for teaching and learning.
