Mayo Street Arts offers an ongoing series of classes and dance instruction, including capoeira with Joan Bordallo. Capoeira is described as a martial art, a dance, a ritual and a way of life. They also offer Argentine Tango Practica for all levels; Tango: Milonga del Este for experienced dancers; and swing dance classes where you can learn the Lindy Hop, Charleston and East Coast swing. Contra Dance presented by the Greater Portland Community Dance Series. With live music from Einstein’s Little Homunculus and a guest caller. Lindy Hop fun in Biddeford, March 11, 18 and 25 with more coming in April. The class is designed to introduce beginners to the fun of the Lindy Hop. You’ll learn about connecting with your partner, the roles of leaders and followers and some moves to get you going. You’ll even practice with some big band music.
