South Portland police have charged one juvenile with arson and two others with failure to control a fire in connection with a grass fire that burned two acres and damaged the siding of a house Monday.
The fire started at 3:30 p.m. near the baseball fields on Pine Street off Broadway and the wind caused it to spread quickly, authorities said. The area is close to the city’s greenbelt.
Police would not release any additional details about the juveniles who were charged, including their names, ages or genders.
