We would like to strongly urge support for the re-election of state Sen. Jim Boyle, D-Gorham.

In the 126th Legislature, Sen. Boyle supported the restoration of municipal revenue sharing, which is crucial for key municipal services.

Services like our fire and police departments, our schools and road maintenance are often partially funded by revenue sharing. Had revenue sharing been cut – as the governor proposed – then Maine towns would have been forced to either raise property taxes or cut essential services. Fortunately, Sen. Boyle fought for, and helped save, revenue sharing.

Jim Boyle also served as a key leader on environmental issues. He served as Senate chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee and on the Agricultural, Forestry and Conservation Committee. He worked on many important bills to protect our forests, wildlife and lakes.
