Bowdoin volunteers taking part in Common Good Day

More than 500 Bowdoin College students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends will be in the Greater Brunswick and Portland communities Saturday for the 16th annual Common Good Day.

Alumni groups in 11 cities across the country also have volunteer events planned for the day.

Teams of Bowdoin volunteers will spend three hours working on various projects for approximately 50 local nonprofit and municipal organizations.

Some of this year’s projects include building rustic boardwalks on one of Freeport Conservation Trust’s trails, organizing and packing medical supplies with Partners for World Health and working on a building for a veteran and his three young children with Habitat for Humanity.
