Susan Collins voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act for women. She blocked legislation to raise the minimum wage – she thinks $10.10, in two years, is “too much.”
Collins voted to deny women health care by supporting the Blunt Amendment, allowing discrimination in offering birth control. She’s declined to take a position against Big Oil on the Portland-Montreal pipeline, and she’s against requiring companies to label their GMO foods.
She recently stated she’s against both means testing for Social Security (do millionaires need to collect?) and raising the income cap (salaries over $113,000 would pay into the program). Either action would dramatically improve Social Security’s bottom line.
Now, along with all the other Senate Republicans, she voted against the amendment to repeal Citizens United and allow regulation of campaign finance.
Who do you want representing you in Washington? I hope you will vote for Democrat Shenna Bellows for senator in November.
