Army Maj. Shannon T. Way received the Army Space Badge during a ceremony Sept. 3 at the Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command headquarters building at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
He is currently serving as plans integration officer with Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
Way is the son of Janice Leblanc of Duson, La., and son-in-law of Robert Kinley of South Portland. He graduated from Carencro High School, Lafayette, La., and Roger Williams University, Bristol, R.I.
Casco Bay Navy League’s celebration of the Navy’s 239th birthday begins at 5 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Maine Maritime Museum, Bath. There will be a live dance band and catered dinner. The cost is $30 for active duty personnel and $50 per person for others. Dress is formal.
