The 100-acre property was donated to Great Works Regional Land Trust in 2011 by Vera Spohr. Spohr retains a lot and small cabin on the original property.

The property features nearly two miles of wooded trails, winding through mostly hardwood forest, down to and along the Negutaquet River. It includes small fields and the old Weymouth family cemetery.

The trust presented Spohr with an award for lifetime membership.

A grant from Kennebunk Savings provided funding for trail work as part of its commitment to public access and recreational opportunities. The property will offer area residents the opportunities for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing as well as hiking.

Great Works Regional Land Trust provides conservation options to landowners in the towns of Berwick, North Berwick, South Berwick, Eliot, Ogunquit and Wells.
