Four years ago, I recognized that independent gubernatorial candidate Eliot Cutler had a vision and the conviction to help execute that vision for Maine. I voted for him then, and I will vote for him this year for the same reasons and more.

I’ve listened to the debates, attended events, read his book, “A State of Opportunity,” and am convinced that Eliot has what it takes to move Maine forward, think outside the box, create new jobs and treat each Mainer with respect. That’s the Maine I believe in, and Eliot is the man who can restore those values and create a competitive and robust economic environment.

Ask yourself what you want Maine to be: stuck in old patterns of partisan politics and do-nothing government, or a state confident of its potential, educated to meet the challenges of the 21st century, poised to revitalize our lagging economy.
