CollegeData.com – A free “online college advisor” that allows students to calculate how much need-based financial aid they are eligible for, and how much aid a given college is likely to provide. The site requires a name, address and email to register.

CollegeToolkit.com – A one-stop-shop for information about colleges, scholarships, student loans and more. Some features require registration or Facebook sign-up.

CollegeBoard.org – A site dedicated to college readiness, covering everything from financial aid to SAT preparedness. Free registration requires sharing some personal data such as name and date of birth.

FinAid.org – A comprehensive guide to financial aid, including information about scholarships, loans, savings plans and military aid.

Downeaster Common Sense Guide to Student Loans – From the Maine Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection, it is loaded with useful financial advice for students in Maine who are preparing to attend college.

Scholarships.com – A search engine for colleges and scholarships that requires free registration and disclosure of basic student information.
