While reading the Dec. 13 article on the Rockport scam artist who embezzled $5 million (“Rockport man ordered to repay $5 million he embezzled from company”), a comparison struck me.
Jason Throne made up a dummy corporation, embezzled millions and lived like a king. Where is the video of the police surrounding Jason Throne and tackling, choking and arresting him?
The answer, of course, is that there is no video because there is no arrest. For that matter, there are not even any criminal charges. He just needs to pay the money back. Gosh, I feel so bad for him.
What Eric Garner did wrong was sell loose cigarettes. Apparently, all that Jason Throne did wrong was get caught.
