The eastbound travel lane of Route 302 will remain closed for the rest of the evening and into the Thursday morning commute, according to Westbrook police.
Capt. Sean Lally said Wednesday’s lane closure was caused by a water main break near the Windham-Westbrook line. The westbound lane will remain open to traffic. All eastbound traffic is being diverted to Methodist Road.
Westbrook police estimate that both lanes of Route 302 – also known as Bridgton Road – should reopen by 6 or 7 a.m. Thursday. The water main break is being repaired by the Portland Water District.
The break was reported at 11:44 a.m. Wednesday.
