SOMERSWORTH, N.H. — New Hampshire fire officials say a man was found dead after a fire in a Somersworth home.

Firefighters were dispatched to a fire at a house on South Street in Somersworth just before 6 p.m. Saturday. After putting out the fire that engulfed all floors of the house, firefighters found a man dead on the second floor.

Authorities Sunday identified the victim as 54-year-old Janis Miller and said he died of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and state fire marshal William Degnan says investigators believe the fire started on the front porch of the residence.

Degnan reminds citizens of the dangers of unattended or improperly discarded smoking materials.
