BANGOR — A spokesman for a Maine hospital says officials have made little progress in negotiations with a nursing union.

The spokesman for Eastern Maine Medical Center says bargaining teams representing the hospital and Maine State Nurses Association, National Nurses Organizing Committee and National Nurses United met on Thursday. He says the parties exchanged information through a federal mediator but there was “no substantial movement” on issues.

The spokesman says the next bargaining session is scheduled for July 2, when the current contract expires. The hospitals says staffing ratios and compensation are the biggest issues remaining on the table.
