A second day of severe weather has knocked out electrical power Wednesday to more than 2,000 customers in the Bangor, Orono and Veazie areas.

Susan Faloon, a spokeswoman for Emera Maine, said in a news release that “another day of fast-moving thunderstorms has Emera Maine crews busy making repairs to the electrical system.”

Faloon said Wednesday’s thunderstorms produced a lot of hail and lightning, which knocked down trees and power lines in Penobscot County.

Most Emera Maine customers should have their power restored by 8 p.m.

A wave of severe thunderstorms that tore through the state on Tuesday knocked out electrical power to thousands of customers of Central Maine Power Co. and Emera Maine.
