CORNISH, N.H. – Authorities say two adults and an 8-year-old girl have been injured after a fair ride suddenly started moving as they were loading onto it.

State Fire Marshal Bill Degnan says it appears a mechanical issue caused The Zipper to move while a caged ride car was being loaded at the Cornish Fair on Friday night.

An adult and young girl fell out of the car. The ride operator was also injured.

Degnan says all three people have been treated for minor injuries and released from local hospitals.

Mark Fanelli’s Traveling Amusement Park of Rindge, New Hampshire, did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment. The Zipper is a thrill ride that flips in multiple directions.

The accident is being investigated.
