SPRINGVALE — Sanford police say a 7-Eleven convenience store in Springvale was robbed Sunday evening.

Detective Sgt. Matthew Jones said a Hispanic male suspect entered the store around 6:26 p.m. and asked for two packs of cigarettes before demanding that the clerk give him cash. He fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was described as being between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and weighing 160 pounds. He had a tattoo of a star on his neck.

Police said the suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, black sneakers with white laces, with a red shirt under the sweatshirt.

Police tracked the suspect with a canine, but were unable to locate him. Anyone with information concerning the robber should call police at 324-9170, ext. 4.
