A bomb threat written on a bathroom wall at Gray-New Gloucester High School Friday led to the school’s evacuation, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s office.

Lt. Donald Foss of the sheriff’s office said the word “bomb” on a boys’ room wall was discovered by a student at noon, and the student reported it to school officials.

The students were taken to the nearby middle school until dismissal time, Foss said, and no one was injured.

Foss said two bomb-sniffing dogs from the State Police were called in and officers went through the school, but found nothing suspicious.

Foss said a video camera captured the entrance to the boys’ room and officers are going through the tapes to see if they can determine who might have written the threat.

No arrests had been made as of Friday night, he said.
