A Portland man was sentenced Thursday in U.S. District Court in Portland to serve seven years in prison for conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine.

William Weston, 36, was also sentenced by Judge George Singal to serve three years of supervised release after completing his federal prison term. Weston pleaded guilty to the charge in October.

Weston was part of a group of drug dealers who acquired crack cocaine out of state and brought it here to sell in the Portland area from December 2013 to January 2015. During the investigation, undercover police bought crack cocaine from Weston and other members of his group to use as evidence against them, according to court records.
