Maine drug enforcement agents arrested a suspected drug dealer Thursday in the East Deering neighborhood, seizing cocaine and prescription pain medication.

Craig Carrigan, 47, was arrested Thursday at his East Kidder Street apartment, just a few blocks from Presumpscot Elementary School. He was charged with two counts of felony trafficking in scheduled drugs.

In a news release, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Cmdr. Scott Pelletier said agents conducted a two-month investigation of Carrigan for allegedly distributing cocaine and oxycodone pills through Greater Portland. Agents determined Carrigan stored and repackaged illegal drugs from his apartment, Pelletier said.

More than 7 ounces of cocaine, 246 oxycodone pills, cutting agents, drug packaging materials and $19,000 in suspected drug proceeds were seized during a search of Carrigan’s apartment, Pelletier said. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $25,000, he added.
