I am writing to endorse state Rep. Martin Grohman, D-Biddeford, for re-election to the Legislature.
I represented Biddeford for eight years. When I was forced to step down because of term limits, I immediately thought of Marty as someone who could carry forward my priorities and represent Biddeford in a positve, bipartisan manner.
I was pleased that he was elected in 2014. In his first term, he immediately got to work supporting sensible welfare reform and pushing to reduce the price of prescription drugs for the elderly.
He also succeeded in moving two of his own bills through, overriding vetoes from Gov. LePage on both of them. They’re important issues: One helps low-income homeowners with their heating bills, and another helps police departments and first responders work together.
I urge you to re-elect Rep. Grohman. We need strong, fair and knowledgeable representation in Augusta. Marty will provide that.
