A 33-year-old Lebanon man was seriously injured when he pulled his pickup truck in front of a tractor-trailer on Route 202 Wednesday morning.

Luke Fleurant’s truck pulled in front of the loaded tractor trailer from Maple Street. The driver of the tractor trailer tried to avoid Fleurant, but struck the front of the truck on the driver’s side.

The force of the impact sent the pickup skidding another 500 feet down Route 202, according to the Lebanon Fire Department.

Emergency responders had to call for an ambulance from North Berwick and from Frisbie EMS because Lebanon’s ambulance units were unavailable.

Fleurant was conscious but was trapped in his pickup and had to be cut out by fire fighters.

Fleurant was flown to Maine Medical Center in Portland via LifeFlight helicopter.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Greg Kimball of North Berwick, was not injured in the wreck.
