Donald Trump’s deplorable model and tweets have yet again encouraged others to trumpet racist remarks that reveal the divisive and white supremacist underbelly of the current Republican Party.
Gov. LePage’s recent comment that U.S. Rep. John Lewis should be thankful for actions of white presidents (who were in office long before Lewis was brutally beaten in 1965 on the bridge in Selma) is but another example of his own racism and of a tendency to follow Trump’s lead.
Clearly, LePage’s recent stomach surgery did nothing to remove his despicably racist gut reactions.
