For all practical purposes, half of Maine’s voters were very happy to see Donald Trump take the oath of office on Friday, while the other half were not. As usual, the Portland Press Herald applied its wet blanket to the affair by maintaining its constant barrage of negativity of anything pro-Trump.
I was thrilled that President Trump’s inaugural address was a brief synopsis of his campaign promises rather than the elongated rhetoric that would soon be forgotten to history.
The time has come for the Press Herald to begin recognizing it has a large readership that is ideologically opposed to the progressive stance always presented.
Newspapers are a dying breed. So few have found and presented an unbiased middle ground. I challenge the editors of the Press Herald to find that elusive journalistic middle of the road before they face their own extinction.
