Equating Sinclair Broadcasting’s and the Portland Press Herald’s op-ed policies regarding the Trump administration, as done in letters to the editor by Don Davis and Pete Martin (Aug. 6), is patently false.

While frequently critical of the president, the Press Herald Editorial Board regularly provides space for alternative views – for example, Gardiner resident Jim Fossel’s weekly commentary, syndicated columns by Charles Krauthammer and other conservatives and the wide range of opinions presented by contributors to Maine Voices.

Sinclair, by contrast, allows no editorial/commentary air time to anyone who disagrees with its political views.
