A Norway woman is facing several charges after her speeding car went off Blackstrap Road in Falmouth injuring her and a passenger Friday night.

Falmouth police said Trisha Mitchell, 25, was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, operating without a license, failure to stop for a police officer and criminal speeding.

Police said an officer in a police cruiser was stopped on the side of Blackstrap Road near Hardy Road at about 8 p.m. when a car sped past at more than 80 mph. The officer started to chase the car before the car went off the road and plowing through brush and trees.

The Falmouth Fire Department had to cut the car open to remove Mitchell and an unidentified passenger, police said. The two were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with non life-threatening injuries.
