The two were honored along with 58 other companies that made the final list in the annual ranking overseen by the Society for Human Resource Management Maine State Council.

The rankings are based on an evaluation of each company’s employee policies and procedures, and responses to an employee survey. The process was overseen by Best Companies Group, which specializes in crafting recognition for best places to work.

“All of these companies, no matter how big or small, recognize the benefit of creating and maintaining a strong and competitive workforce,” Gov. Paul LePage said in a statement honoring the winners.

Several members of the LePage administration, including Economic and Community Development Commissioner George Gervais, Labor Commissioner Jeanne Paquette and Health and Human Services Commissioner Mary Mayhew, were scheduled to attend the dinner Thursday night at the Italian Heritage Center in Portland honoring the 60 companies that made the list and revealing the rankings.
