NEW FACES

• Sue Strommer, Ruth Vinal, Elizabeth Speck and Virginia Chaput all have been hired at Coastal Enterprises, Inc. Stromer will serve as transactional analyst for the company’s management division in Portland. Vinal will serve as controller, Speck as SBDC business technician and Chaput as accounting assistant.

• Patrick Keating of Surry has joined Consigli Construction Co., Inc. on its project management team. He is serving as project manager for the phased renovation of the Margaret Chase Smith Federal Building for the U.S. General Services Administration in Bangor.

• Dr. Mary Donahue has joined Hidden Springs Psychological Services in Saco. She is a graduate of the University at Albany Counseling Services Program and will start seeing clients on a sliding fee scale.

• Maya Resse has joined Thomaston Yoga Studio. She became a certified teacher through the ShivaShakti School in Rockland where she completed her training in 2009.

• Stephen Hyde and Jeff Trudel have joined Systems Engineering. Hyde joins as a network engineer in the managed security division, bringing 28 years’ experience to the position. Trudel has joined as a network administrator in network services.

• Viann Nappi, Jessica Harrison, Jane Simonds and Ashlea Towle Loring have joined Amore Styles and Skin Care. Nappi has 30 years’ experience with hairstyling and three years’ experience practicing aesthetics. Harrison is bringing extensive aesthetic techniques to the center. Simonds previously worked at Paradiso and Renew Salon & Spa. Loring joins as wellness coach and salon coordinator.

• James Jarvis has been named Damariscotta branch manager at Camden National Bank. He comes to Camden National Bank from Key Bank, where he most recently served as the Bath branch manager.

 

PROMOTIONS

• Eric Jermyn has been promoted to director of small-group sales at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Maine. He has been with the company for more than 15 years, serving most recently as senior account executive for major accounts.

• Headlight Audio Visual of Portland recently promoted Andrew Bruns and David Coffin. Bruns, who was named president, has been with the company since 1985. Coffin, who has been with the company since 1986, was named chief operations officer.

• Ellen Golden has been promoted to managing director of Coastal Enterprises, Inc. – Investment Notes, Inc. She was previously senior vice president of business development. Also promoted was Gray Harris, to director of agricultural resources and programs.

AWARDS and RECOGNITION

• Penobscot Bay Medical Center has been recognized for achievement in using evidence-based guidelines to provide the best possible care to patients through The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get with the Guidelines program.

• Dr. Eric Schenk was recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Heart/Stroke Recognition Program for providing quality care to his patients who have cardiovascular disease or who have had a stroke.

GENERAL

• Dana McEwan of Portland and Laurie McReel of Oakland have joined the Bicycle Coalition of Maine’s board of directors.

• Deborah Phelan of Scarborough has been elected board secretary of the Association for Vascular Access. She is a nurse with 32 years’ combined experience in critical care, emergency room, home infusion nursing and interventional radiology.

• Bartley Parker, David Batchelder, Jim Bennett and David Hines were elected president, vice president, secretary and treasurer, respectively, of the Maine CFA Society, a local chapter of the CFA Institute, for the 2010-2011 fiscal year. The directors of the society’s board for the upcoming year, in addition to the officers, will be Peter Boland, Mike Del Tergo, Alex Dodd, Mark Fernandez, Carl Gercke, Karen Milliken, Brian Schutrumpf, Robert Strong and David Tourangeau.

• Niles Parker, executive director of the Penobscot Marine Museum, will be stepping down from his position in September. The museum has begun a search process to identify his successor.

• John Rohman has been elected to the board of directors for Camden National Corp. He has served on the board of directors for Camden National Bank, a subsidiary of the company, since 2007 and will remain on that board.

• Dianna Emory, of Mount Desert Island and the Blue Hill peninsula, has joined the College of the Atlantic’s board of trustees. She founded the Behavioral Medicine Center, a clinical counseling center, and conducted cognitive behavioral training workshops for mental health professionals and physicians before her retirement in 2000.
