Greece's last-minute overtures to international creditors for financial aid on Tuesday were not enough to save the country from becoming the first developed economy to default on a loan with the International Monetary Fund. On Sunday, Greece will hold a crucial national referendum that could decide whether the country accepts reforms its creditors proposed last week in exchange for bailout loans, or whether it falls out of the Eurozone. For Greeks, particularly the elderly, the daily struggle to get cash grinds on in the face of uncertainty.
