Biddeford is hosting its third annual WinterFest this weekend, featuring a giant sledding hill in the middle of downtown.

The sledding hill, built entirely by volunteers, was made with 4,000 cubic yards of snow that had been stockpiled at local shopping centers. The clean top snow came from the Biddeford Municipal Airport, where salt and sand is not used on runways. The sledding hill is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Sleds are available to borrow or people can bring their own.

More information is available on the Biddeford WinterFest Facebook page or at www.heartofbiddeford.org.
