Nobody was hurt in a fire that destroyed a car on Interstate 295 northbound near Exit 10 Friday.

Portland firefighters were called to the scene at 8:15 a.m. by the driver of the Ford Taurus, which had caught fire, authorities said. When the department arrived, the car was engulfed in flames.

The fire snarled northbound traffic during the busy commuter time but the scene was cleared by 9 a.m. The fire is not suspicious.
