Each day of the toy fund campaign, the Press Herald will run letters from applicants, such as this one:

"My husband has had many surgeries over the past year on his feet and now is unable to work. We are waiting on disability.

I am unable to work because I cannot leave our children home alone with my husband because of all the meds he is on and we can’t afford daycare.

I hope you can help. Thank you for all you do."
